Yang Xuangan, an official of China’s Sui Dynasty, is the son of the powerful official Yang Su, and, as he knows that Emperor Yang is apprehensive of his father, has never been quite secure.
In 613, when Emperor Yang is attacking Goguryeo, Yang Xuangan rebels near the eastern capital Luoyang, but is soon defeated.
He orders his brother Yang Jishan to kill him, so as to not fall into Emperor Yang's hands.
