Senonae, Siege of
Years: 356 - 356
In 356, Roman Emperor Julian the Apostate over-winters in Senonae (possibly modern Sens) in Gaul.
Following desertions from his German federated troops, hostile Germanic warbands learn that his force is under-strength and moves to attack the town.
However, they are not able to break into the town, lacking advanced siegecraft, and can only prevent Julian from venturing outside the walls.
After a month, they withdraw.
