Roman War with Veii, First

Years: 483BCE - 474BCE

The Veientines come out ahead in their first war with Rome.

One memorable battle is at the Cremera (a stream in Etruria north of Rome) in 479, where the entire Fabian clan of three hundred and six people, save one, is wiped out.

A treaty is written in 474, but Veii still controls Fidenae.
