Years: 1387 - 1387

The Battle of Radcot Bridge is fought on December 19, 1387 at Radcot Bridge in England, a bridge over the River Thames now in Oxfordshire but at this time the boundary between Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

It is fought between troops loyal to Richard II, led by court favorite Robert de Vere, and an army captained by Henry Bolingbroke, Earl of Derby.

"Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past...Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street and building has been renamed, every date has been altered."

― George Orwell, 1984 (1948)
