Queen Anne's War
Years: 1702 - 1713
Queen Anne's War is the second in a series of four French and Indian Wars fought between France and England (later France and Great Britain) in North America for control of North America and is the counterpart of the War of the Spanish Succession in Europe.
In addition to the two main combatants, the war also involves a number of American Indian tribes and Spain, which is allied with France. The name "Queen Anne's War" is only used in the United States.
In Canada, Britain, and France this war is simply considered a theater of the War of the Spanish Succession.English military aid to the colonists is largely ineffective or deflected in defense of the areas around Charles Town, South Carolina, and the New York–New England frontier with the Canadian territories.
