Peace in the Middle East?
Years: 2003 - 2005
In 1992, during the breakup of Yugoslavia, I wrote that massive population transfers of Orthodox Christian Serbs, Roman Catholic Croats, and Bosnian Muslims from isolated enclaves to single delineated ethno-religious territories seemed, unfortunately, the only way to achieve peace in the region.
As it turns out, that is exactly what happened, but this process, undertaken as "ethnic cleansing," was accomplished only by force, with attendant strife and slaughter.
To have effected this multiple transfer peacefully would have been more costly, perhaps, in treasure, but far less costly in human lives.
Having undertaken extensive studies of the Middle East, I here present for the reader's consideration a plan for peace in the Middle East.
