Northern Seven Years' War

Years: 1563 - 1570

The Northern Seven Years' War (also known as the Nordic Seven Years' War, the First Northern War or the Seven Years War in Scandinavia) is the war between Sweden and a coalition of Denmark-Norway, Lubeck and Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, fought between 1563 and 1570.

The fighting continues until both armies have been exhausted, and many men die.

The resulting peace is a stalemate, with neither party gaining any new territory.

“Hegel remarks somewhere that all great, world-historical facts and personages occur, as it were, twice. He has forgotten to add: the first time as tragedy, the second as farce”

― Karl Marx, The Eighteenth Brumaire...(1852)
