Larut War

Years: 1861 - 1874

The Larut War is a series of four wars starting in July 1861 and endeing with the signing of the Pangkor Treaty of 1874.

The conflict is fought among local Chinese secret societies over the control of mining areas in Perak, which later involves rivalry between Raja Abdullah and Ngah Ibrahim.
