In Britain, Canada, and France, this war is considered a theater of the War of the Austrian Succession, with no separate name.
It is the third of the four French and Indian Wars. The War of Jenkins’s Ear officially had officially begun when a Spanish commander chopped off the ear of the English captain Robert Jenkins and told him to take that to his king, George II.
War had broken out in 1739 between the Spanish and British and was initially confined to the Caribbean Sea and the British colony of Georgia.
This escalates into King George’s War in 1744 when the French join the side of Spain.
