Fimreite, Battle of

The Battle of Fimreite (Norwegian: Slaget ved Fimreite) is a naval battle fought on June 15, 1184 between King Magnus Erlingsson and the Birkebeiner pretender Sverre Sigurdsson.

Sverre eventually defeats and kills Magnus in the battle, and successfully usurps the Norwegian throne.
