Bulgarian–Ottoman wars
Years: 1344 - 1396
The Bulgarian–Ottoman wars are fought between the kingdoms remaining from the disintegrating Second Bulgarian Empire and the Ottoman Empire in the second half of the fourteenth century.
The wars results in the collapse and subordination of the Bulgarian Empire, as the last standing Kingdom, the Tsardom of Vidin, is conquered in 1396.
As a result of the wars, the Ottoman Empire greatly expandsits territory on the Balkan peninsula, stretching from the Danube to the Aegean Sea.
