Anglo-Dutch War, Fourth

Years: 1780 - 1784

The Fourth Anglo-Dutch War is a conflict between the Kingdom of Great Britain and the Dutch Republic.

The war, motivated by imperial competition, is a disaster for the Netherlands, whose republic is reduced to a Prussian puppet. As well as being the fourth in a series of Anglo-Dutch Wars, it is also considered as being part of the wider American War of Independence.

“History isn't about dates and places and wars. It's about the people who fill the spaces between them.”

― Jodi Picoult, The Storyteller (2013)
