Anglo-Cherokee War of 1758-61
Years: 1758 - 1761
The Anglo-Cherokee War (1758–1761) (Cherokee:"war with those in the red coats" or "war with the English"), also known (from the Anglo-European perspective) as the Cherokee War, the Cherokee Uprising, the Cherokee Rebellion, is a conflict between British forces in North America and Cherokee Indians during the French and Indian War.
The British and the Cherokee are formally allies at the start of the war, but each party repeatedly suspecta the other of betrayal.
Tensions between English-American settlers and the Cherokee increase during the 1750s.
