Waifer of Aquitaine
Duke of Aquitaine
Years: 705 - 768
Waifer (also Waifar or Waiofar[1]) was the last independent Duke of Aquitaine from 744 or 745 to 768, succeeding his father, Hunold, after the latter enters a monastery.
He inherits from his father the conflict with the Franks, who are nominally his suzerains.
