Tekle Giyorgis I

Emperor of Ethiopia
Years: 1751 - 1817

Tekle Giyorgis I (Amharic: "Plant of Saint George"; c. 1751 –  December 12, 1817) is Emperor of Ethiopia (throne name Feqr Sagad) intermittently between July 20, 1779 and June 1800, and a member of the Solomonic dynasty.

He is the youngest son of Yohannes II and Woizoro Sancheviyer, and the brother of Tekle Haymanot II.

According to Sven Rubenson, who describes Tekle Giyorgis as the last emperor to exercise authority on his own, "It is not without justification thathe has in Ethiopian tradition received the nickname Fiṣame Mengist, 'the end of the government'".
