Samuel Finley Breese Morse (April 27, 1791 – April 2, 1872) is an American inventor.
He contributes to the invention of a single-wire telegraph system based on European telegraphs, is a co-inventor of the Morse code, and also an accomplished painter.
Morse additionally supports the institution of slavery as well as anti-Catholic and anti-immigration efforts within the United States.
