Qutb-ud-din Aibak
Ghurid king of Northwest India
Years: 1165 - 1210
Qutb-ud-din Aibak is a Turkic king of Northwest India who rules from his capital in Delhi where he builds the Qutub Minar and the Quwwat Al Islam mosque.
He is of Turkic descent from central Asia (modern day Aybak, Samangan, Afghanistan), the first Sultan of Delhi and founder of the Ghulam dynasty (Mamluk Sultanate) of India.
He rules for only four years, from 1206 to 1210.
He dies while playing polo in Lahore.
