Peter Lombard (rather Peter the Lombard) or Petrus Lombardus c. 1096, Novara, Lombardy- July 21 or 22, 1160 Paris, France) is a scholastic theologian and bishop and author of Four Books of Sentences, which become the standard textbook of theology, for which he earns the accolade Magister Sententiarum.
