Palacus
king of Lesser Scythia
Years: 140BCE - 90BCE
Palacus or Palakus was the king of Lesser Scythia who succeeds his father, Skilurus.
Resuming the latter's war against Mithridates the Great, he attempts to besiege Chersonesos but is defeated by Pontic forces under Diophantus.
Enlisting the assistance of the Rhoxolani under Tasius, Palacus launches an invasion of the Crimea.
The invaders are defeated by Diophantes and accept Mithridates as their overlord.
Palacus is the last Scythian king whose name is attested in classical sources.
