Naram-Sin (ca.
2211–2135 BCE, short chronology), is the third successor and grandson of King Sargon of Akkad; under Naram-Sin the Akkadian Empire reaches its zenith.
He is the first Mesopotamian king to claim divinity ("Sin" refers to god) for himself, and the first to be called "King of the Four Quarters".
