Mary of Burgundy

Duchess of Burgundy
Years: 1457 - 1482

Mary (February 13, 1457 – March 27, 1482), Duchess of Burgundy, reigns over the Low Countries from 1477 until her death.

As the only child of Charles the Bold and his wife Isabella of Bourbon, she is the heiress to the vast, and vastly wealthy, Burgundian domains in France and the Low Countries upon her father's death in the Battle of Nancy on 5 January 1477, and is accordingly often referred to as Mary the Rich (though this is not usual in English).
