Margaret Tudor
Queen of Scots
Years: 1489 - 1541
Margaret Tudor (November 28, 1489 – October 18, 1541) is Queen of Scots from 1503 until 1513 as the wife of James IV and then regent for their son James V. She was born at Westminster Palace as the elder surviving daughter of Henry VII of England and Elizabeth of York.
As queen dowager, she marries Archibald Douglas, 6th Earl of Angus.
Through her first and second marriages, respectively, Margaret is the grandmother of both Mary, Queen of Scots, and Mary's second husband, Lord Darnley.
Margaret's marriage to James IV foreshadows the Union of the Crowns – their great-grandson, King James VI of Scotland, the child of Mary and Darnley, will also become the king of England and Ireland on the death of Margaret's fraternal niece, Elizabeth I of England, in 1603.
