Ly Nam De is considered by many to be the first emperor of Vietnam and the founder of the Early Lý Dynasty (544 - 602).
Lý (October 17, 503 - April 13, 548), originally known as Lý Bí or Lý Bôn and eventually as The Southern Emperor, ruled from Feb. 544 - Feb. 548.
