Ludovico Sforza

Duke of Milan
Years: 1439 - 1502

Ludovico Maria Sforza (also known as Ludovico il Moro; July 27, 1452 – May 27, 1508), is Duke of Milan from 1494 until 1499, following the death of his nephew Gian Galeazzo Sforza.

A member of the Sforza family, he is the second son of Francesco I Sforza.

He is famed as a patron of Leonardo da Vinci and other artists, and presides over the final and most productive stage of the Milanese Renaissance.

He is probably best known as the man who commissioned The Last Supper.
