Leopold Zunz (Hebrew: Yom Tov Tzuntz, Yiddish: Lipmann Zunz; August 10, 1794 – March 17, 1886) is the founder of academic Judaic Studies (Wissenschaft des Judentums), the critical investigation of Jewish literature, hymnology and ritual.

Zunz's historical investigations and contemporary writings will have an important influence on contemporary Judaism.
