Kalanikūpule is the 27th Mōʻī of Maui and King of Oʻahu.
He is the last king to physically fight with Kamehameha I over the Hawaiian Islands.
Kalanikūpule is the last of the longest line of ʻAliʻi Aimoku in the Hawaiian Islands.
In Hawaiian, his name means "the heavenly prayer of Kū".
