Jean-Baptiste Nicolas Roch, seigneur de Ramezay, (born September 4, 1708, in Montreal, and died May 7, 1777, in Blaye, France), is an officer of the marines and colonial administrator for New France during the eigteenth century.
Joining as an ensign at the age of eleven, he fightscampaigns against the Meskwaki tribe in Illinois and the British in Acadia.
As the King's lieutenant, he signs in the name of Louis XV the Articles of capitulation of the city of Quebec, in 1759, during the Seven Years' War, an action for which he is later criticized.
