Indravarman II
ruler of the Khmer Empire
Years: 1195 - 1243
Indravarman II is a ruler of the Khmer Empire, son of Jayavarman VII.
There is some dispute regarding the actual period of his reign, because his successor, Jayavarman VIII, probably destroyed historical records concerning him, but the only inscription which directly mentions him reports that he died in 1243.
He is a Buddhist and is also credited with having enlarged (or completed) some of Jayavarman VII's temples.
During his peaceful reign, the Khmers lose control of Champa and the newly created Sukhothai Kingdom under Indraditya takes possession of some western territories.
