Henry VII, Holy Roman Emperor
King of Germany and Holy Roman Emperor
Years: 1275 - 1313
Henry VII (German: Heinrich; ca. 1275 – 24 August 1313) is the King of Germany (or Rex Romanorum) from 1308 and Holy Roman Emperor from 1312.
He is the first emperor of the House of Luxembourg.
During his brief career he reinvigorates the imperial cause in Italy, wracked with the partisan struggles between the divided Guelf and Ghibelline factions, and inspires the praise of Dino Compagni and Dante Alighieri; however, his premature death undoes his life's work.
