France-Albert René (French: [fʁɑ̃s albɛʁ ʁəne]; 16 November 1934– 27 February 2019) was a Seychellois lawyer, politician and statesman who served as the second President of Seychelles from 1977 to 2004. He also served as the country's second Prime Minister from its independence in 1976 to 1977. He was a member of United Seychelles.
He was nicknamed by Seychellois government officials and fellow party members as "the Boss". His name is often given as simply Albert René or F. A. René; he was also nicknamed Ti France.
