Chong of Han
8th emperor of the Han Dynasty
Years: 143 - 145
Emperor Chong of Han (143–145) is an emperor of the Chinese Han Dynasty and the eighth emperor of the Eastern Han period.
Emperor Chong is the only son of Emperor Shun.
He ascends the throne at the age of one and reigns less than six months.
During his reign, Empress Dowager Liang and her brother Liang Ji preside over all government affairs.
While the empress dowager herself appears to be open-minded and honest, she overly trusts her corrupt brother, and this leads to corruption.
As a result, the peasants suffer greatly.
Emperor Chong, not yet three years old, dies in 145.
