Callisthenes
Greek historian
Years: 360BCE - 327BCE
Callisthenes of Olynthus (ς; ca.
360-328 BCE) is a Greek historian.
He is the son of one Hero and Proxenus of Atarneus, which makes him the great nephew of Aristotle by his sister Arimneste.
They first meet when Aristotle tutors Alexander the Great.
Through his great-uncle's influence, he is later appointed to attend Alexander the Great on his Asiatic expedition as a professional historian.
