Archbishop Atticus of Constantinople
Archbishop of Constantinople
Years: 360 - 425
Atticus (... – 10 October 425) is the archbishop of Constantinople, succeeding Arsacius of Tarsus in March 406.
He had been an opponent of John Chrysostom and helped Arsacius of Tarsus depose him, but later becomes a supporter of him after his death.
He rebuilds the small church that is located on the site of the later Hagia Sophia, and is an opponent of the Pelagians, which helps increase his popularity among the citizens of Constantinople.
