Anthony Ashley-Cooper, 4th Earl of Shaftesbury (February 9, 1711 – 1771) is a British peer and philanthropist.

He serves as a Member of Parliament and Trustees for the Establishment of the Colony of Georgia in America.

He is a prominent figure in England, serving as Lord Lieutenant of Dorset from 1734 until his death.
