Ahmad Shah Bahadur

Mughal Emperor
Years: 1725 - 1775

Ahmad Shah Bahadur, Mirza Ahmad Shah, Mujahid-ud-Din Ahmad Shah Ghazi[ (December 23, 1725 – 1 January 1775), born to Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah, succeeds his father to the throne as the 15th Mughal Emperor in 1748 at the age of twenty-two.

When Ahmed Shah Bahadur comes to power the rule of the Mughal Empire is collapsing; furthermore, his administrative weaknesses eventually lead to the rise of the usurping Feroze Jung III.

Ahmed Shah Bahadur inherits a much weakened Mughal state.

He is emperor in title for six years, but leaves all affairs to state to rival factions. He is deposed by the Vizier Feroze Jung III and later blinded along with his mother.

He spends the remaining years of his life in prison and dies of natural causes in January 1775.
