Ahmad ibn Ṭūlūn (September 835 – March 884) is the founder of the Tulunid dynasty that rules Egypt briefly between 868 and 905.
Originally sent by the Abbasid caliph as governor to Egypt, ibn Ṭūlūn establishes himself as an independent ruler.
