Aemilianus

39th Emperor of the Roman Empire
Years: 207 - 253

Aemilianus (Latin: Marcus Aemilius Aemilianus Augustus; c. 207/213 – 253), also known as Aemilian, is Roman Emperor for three months in 253.

Commander of the Moesian troops, he obtains an important victory against the invading Goths and is, for this reason, acclaimed Emperor by his army.

He then moves quickly to Italy, where he defeats Emperor Trebonianus Gallus, only to be killed by his own men when another general, Valerian, proclaims himself Emperor and moves against Aemilian with a larger army.
