Abdur Rahman Khan (between 1830 to 1844 – October 1, 1901) is Amir of Afghanistan from 1880 to 1901.
He is the third son of Mohammad Afzal Khan, and grandson of Dost Mohammad Khan.
Abdur Rahman Khan is considered a strong ruler who reestablishes the writ of the Afghan government after the disarray that follows the second Anglo-Afghan war.
He becomes known as The Iron Amir.
