Cholera had reached the southern tips of the Ural Mountains in 1829.
On August 26, 1829, the first cholera case had been recorded in Orenburg with reports of outbreaks in Bugulma (November 7), Buguruslan (December 5), Menselinsk (January 2 , 1830), and Belebeevsk (January 6).
With thirty-five hundred cases including eight hundred and sixty-five fatal ones in Orenburg province, the epidemic stops by February 1830.
