Supreme Central and Governing Junta of the Kingdom

Years: 1808 - 1810

The Supreme Central and Governing Junta of the Kingdom (also known as Supreme Central Junta, the Supreme Council, and Junta of Seville; Spanish: Junta Suprema Central) formally is the Spanish organ that accumulates the executive and legislative powers during the Napoleonic occupation of Spain.

It is established on September 25, 1808, following the Spanish victory at the Battle of Bailén and after the Council of Castile had declared null and void the abdications of Charles IV and Ferdinand VII done at Bayonne earlier in May.

It is active until January 30, 1810.

It is initially formed by the representatives of the provincial juntas and first meets in Aranjuez chaired by the Count of Floridablanca, with thirty-five members in total.
