The Serbian Despotate is a Serbian state, the last to be conquered by the Ottoman Empire.

Although the Battle of Kosovo in 1389 is generally considered the end of the medieval Serbian state, the Despotate, a successor of the Serbian Empire and Moravian Serbia survives for seventy more years, experiencing a cultural and political renaissance in the first half of the fifteenth century before it is conquered by the Ottomans in 1459.

Even then, it continues to exist in exile in the medieval Kingdom of Hungary until the mid-sixteenth century.

Pavle Bakić is the last Despot of Serbia to be recognized by both Ottoman and Habsburg Empires.
