Sambians (Western Balts)

Years: 4 - 1396

The Sambians are one of the Prussian tribes.

They inhabit the peninsula of Sambia, north of the city of Königsberg (now Kaliningrad).

Sambians are located in a coastal territory rich in amber and engage in trade early on (see Amber Road).

Therefore, they establish contacts with foreign nations before any other Prussians.

However, as all other Prussians, they are conquered by the Teutonic Knights, and, exposed to assimilation and Germanization, become extinct sometime in the seventeenth century.
