Malwa, Kingdom of
Years: 950 - 1305
From the mid-tenth century, Malwa is ruled by the Paramaras, who establish a capital at Dhar.
King Bhoj, who rules from about 1010 to 1060, is known as the great polymath philosopher-king of medieval India; his extensive writings cover philosophy, poetry, medicine, veterinary science, phonetics, yoga, and archery.
Under his rule Malwa becomes an intellectual centrer of India.
His successors rule until about 1305, when Malwa is conquered by the Delhi Sultanate.
