The Hussites divide in 1423 into two major parties: the conservatives (Calixtines, or Utraquists) and the radicals (Täborites and Horebites).
The former, centered at Täbor in southern Bohemia, seek to retain the traditional hierarchical and liturgical order; the latter wish the church to return to a primitive simplicity and poverty and conform its life to specific scriptural mandates.
