Years: 1801 - 1801

The Acts of Union 1800 (sometimes called the Acts of Union 1801) are two complementary Acts, namely: The Union with Ireland Act 1800 (39 & 40 Geo. 3 c. 67), an Act of the Parliament of Great Britain, and The Act of Union (Ireland) 1800 (40 Geo. 3 c. 38), an Act of the Parliament of Ireland.

Passed on July 2, 1800 and August 1, 1800 respectively, the twin Acts unite the Kingdom of Great Britain and the Kingdom of Ireland to create the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

The union comes into effect on January 1, 1801.

Both Acts, though since amended, remain in force in the United Kingdom.
