Ptolemy, having befriended the deposed Pyrrhus, who had become his hostage in a treaty between himself and Pyrrhus’s Antogonid brother-in-law Demetrius Poliorcetes, restores the Epirote ruler, now twenty-one, to his Hellenistic kingdom in 297 and gives in marriage his stepdaughter Antigone.
He receives Corcyra and Leucas in a marriage dowry.
