Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth Hetman Stanisław Żółkiewski stops a counter-raid of Tatars and Moldavians on the Commonwealth with a show of force and without a fight, and Żółkiewski and Ştefan II Tomşa, Prince of Moldavia, signed an agreement in October 1612 at Khotyn.
Tomşa gives assurances of his willingness to help mend the conflict between the Ottoman Empire and the Commonwealth and pledges allegiance to the Polish king.
