The see of the Archbishop of Canterbury …

Years: 1207 - 1207
June

The see of the Archbishop of Canterbury has been vacant since the death of Hubert Walter in 1205.

Some of the younger monks had elected to the see Reginald, the subprior of Christ Church, Canterbury, while another faction, under pressure from King John, had chosen John de Grey, Bishop of Norwich.

Both elections had been quashed on appeal to Rome.
