Jordan had been left in charge in …

Years: 1083 - 1083

Jordan had been left in charge in 1082, while his father was away from Sicily helping Robert Guiscard, his brother the Duke of Apulia, but in the summer of 1083, Jordan leads a few disaffected nobles in rebellion.

His father returns and immediately blinds the leaders of the revolt, only pardoning his son at the last moment, to instill in him a healthy respect for authority.

He will remain loyal ever thereafter.
