Dunmore and Lewis advance from their respective points into Ohio to within eight miles (thirteen kilometers) of the Shawnee towns at Pickaway Plains (present Pickaway County, Ohio) on the Scioto.
Here they erect the temporary Camp Charlotte on Sippo Creek and here they meet with Cornstalk to begin peace negotiations.
By the terms of the Treaty of Camp Charlotte (October 19, 1774), the Shawnee agree to cease hunting south of the Ohio and to discontinue harassment of travelers on the River.
Although Chief Logan says he will cease fighting, he will not attend the formal peace talks.
